QUR'AN FAQs
What does the $20 Qur’an sponsorship cover?
The $20 sponsorship primarily covers the
unit cost of a printed Qur’an distributed to a student enrolled in one of our
partnered Qur’an schools.
It does not fund tuition, teacher salaries, or general school operations.
Students are enrolled through their own tuition arrangements; your sponsorship
ensures they receive a personal Qur’an dedicated to their study and
memorization journey.
Many hafiz graduates will tell you they
still keep the very first copy of their Qur’an — often worn and tattered from
constant use — as a cherished reminder of the journey that shaped their lives.
Are my funds used for anything besides the Qur’an itself?
The $20 amount is designated for Qur’an
sponsorship.
From time to time, separate sponsorship funds may also be used to provide
foundational learning materials such as tajweed textbooks, qaidas (Arabic
reading primers), and individual juz booklets used in hifz training. These
primers support students in their early stages of their hifz journey.
Which schools benefit from this program?
We currently support students at:
• Toronto Hifz Academy (Toronto)
• Madaniyya Academy (Malton)
• Ontario Muslim Academy (Cambridge)
• Lote Tree School (Brampton)
• Ar-Rashaad Centre (Brampton)
These institutions have strong reputations for producing graduates who not only
memorize the Qur’an but actively serve their communities.
Can I choose which school receives my sponsorship?
At this time, sponsorships are not directed
to specific schools.
Each partnered school provides us with an annual forecast of their projected
Qur’an needs. We allocate sponsorship funds based on those forecasts to ensure
needs are met in full or in part, according to priority and available funds.
Is sponsoring a Qur’an considered sadaqa jariya?
Yes. Supporting a student’s access to the
Qur’an is widely regarded as ongoing charity (sadaqa jariya).
Every recitation, memorization, teaching, and act of guidance that flows from
that Qur’an continues to generate reward — long after the initial sponsorship.
Will I receive updates on the impact?
While individual student tracking is not
provided, we encourage donors to follow our partner schools on their social
media platforms to witness the incredible work, graduations, and community
contributions of their students and huffadh.
Can I sponsor a Qur’an in the name of a loved one?
Yes. You may sponsor a Qur’an in the name
or memory of a loved one.
Many donors choose to dedicate their sponsorship as a form of legacy giving —
intending the reward for a parent, spouse, child, or any beloved individual. As
the student reads, memorizes, and lives by that Qur’an, the ongoing spiritual
benefit (sadaqa jariya) may be gifted to the person in whose name it was
sponsored.
This makes Qur’an sponsorship a meaningful way to honour someone with a lasting
and spiritually impactful contribution.
